Tornado Watch Issued for Large Swath of Florida

Residents Urged to Take Precautions as Severe Weather Moves Through

Tornado Watch in Effect Until 5 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for a large portion of Florida, stretching from Jacksonville to Orlando and into Spring Hill. The watch is in effect until 5 p.m. Wednesday.

A few strong-to-severe storms moved through parts of Florida Tuesday night, with more storms expected to keep moving east through Wednesday morning. The NWS has issued 32 total warnings, and tornadoes are possible in the area.

At least three tornadoes have already been reported Tuesday morning in the Florida Panhandle, according to the National Weather Service. Residents are urged to take precautions and stay safe as the severe weather moves through.
